Week 5: Presentation & Empathy Map

Updated: Dec 7, 2022

Our week started with a presentation where we showed our classmates and instructors the progress we had made on our project so far. After presenting, we received feedback both from our classmates and our mentors, which provided us with inputs and new ideas for adjustments and improvements we need to make, as well as directions we might want to research further.

After processing the feedback given to us, we went back to our previous assignments and corrected them accordingly. Specifically, we updated our “How might we” sentence and created an additional persona. In accordance with the feedback, we created a second, “laxer” persona who does not manage the social gatherings. In this way we will be able to create a clearer picture of the entire group, their dynamics, and each participants role and thoughts surrounding these gatherings.

Afterwards, we received a new tool to work with - an empathy map, which aims to help us get a better picture of the potential user and the internal and external forces that influence them. In order to fill out the empathy map to the best of our abilities, we imagined the internal and external dialogue between our 2 personas and how they react to each other from the moment a meeting is brought up to the feelings each one is left with after the meeting is over.
