This week we were faced with a difficult dilemma, the interviews we conducted in week 3 hadn’t brought up strong needs in the field of "overconsumption culture".
As a result, we decided to pivot and research a different domain. We started brainstorming for new ideas both similar from and different than our initial domain. We tried to find fields we believe have problems without an adequate solution. Finally, after consulting with Noa and Ofir, our mentors, we found a new domain which we all believe could be changed for the better- "Improving the experience of organizing social culinary gatherings”.
Since we switched the domain for our project, we had a lot of work to make up for and so we started to re-do the assignments from the prior weeks. To reduce the gap created, we delegated and split responsibilities. Between Wednesday and Sunday, half of the team began working on our upcoming presentation for our weekly class at the MILab, and the other part conducted interviews with potential users to specify the needs for the new domain we chose to focus on.
On Sunday, we had a joint meeting, in which we analyzed the data collected from the interviews and integrated it into our presentation. In addition, we filled in the “How might we” table we received in class.
On Monday we went over the structure of the presentation in preparation for the presentation on the coming Wednesday.
Today, Tuesday, we have a group meeting to rehearse the presentation before presenting it in front of the class tomorrow, and to make sure everything is ready and handed in.
